why?

it's an important question

june 2024

Ever since I could hold a pencil or a pair of scissors, I have made things.

So the question of 'why?' never occurred to me.

But more recently I have begun to think about it.

Creating this embroidery inspired by a trip to Mallorca, felt like a way to capture the memory of seeing the bright blue sea, in a way that a photo simply couldn't.

It was the same for this embroidery of the wildflowers scattered along the roadsides.

and capturing the swallows whirling overhead at dusk.

So, I've come to realise, that for me, it's about capturing a memory of something transient.

And then I got to thinking about the memories which could be created if friends or families were to share in the experience of making something together.

Families who drift apart during term time, or when life & work just takes over, could spend a couple of hours together creating something & re-connecting.

I think that is a little bit of magic.

Think about it... would your family enjoy it?

Let me know if they would & we can book a session.
