A friend of mine gave me the loveliest embroidery threads*...
... a blend of wool & silk, these threads have the most beautiful tones to them.
Honestly, I felt a little bit overwhelmed ... you see they are quite special, so I wanted to stitch something lovely with them. In the end I made a rainbow.
It was an easy way to get used to the feel of them, as well as another excuse to make a rainbow.
Don't you love the back almost as much as the front? I feel like it tells a story of it's own.
And even the off-cuts look beautiful.
I have an idea on what I'd like create with the rest of them, as soon as it is ready, you'll be the first to see it.
Do you remember the
Well, I've added to the story by creating a large Rainbow print.
And also a postcard version ready for you to print in a class.
They are such a treat to make, but although they look simple, they are perhaps one of the more complex ones to create, purely because of the number of inks used.
It's worth it, though, and what a lovely thing to send a loved one through the post.
Let's make some together. We'll have a lovely time.
