What does it even mean?
I'd heard it mentioned, but simply thought it was about things smelling nice...
... until 2020, April 2020 to be precise.
The anxiety that the pandemic brought left me overwhelmed and sad.
I couldn't focus, I ended up obsessing about how many fingerprints were on the tap in the kitchen.
The uncertainty of everything, and the challenges of supporting loved ones meant I used the wonder that is You Tube, to learn how to do simple breathing exercises, to calm my mind.
With that came the desire to smell something nice when I breathed in deeply.
Using a basic selection of essential oils, I began messing about with different combinations.
Slowly I began to realise that what scent I breathed in, affected my mood.
We know about lavender, but what about the others, like bergamot?
Turns out bergamot is a rather wobbly looking citrus fruit and has become my absolute favourite essential oil.
Now, I don't travel without a tiny pot of scented balm, to help calm my mind when it all feels a bit much.
So, if you sometimes feel little bit overwhelmed, let me show you how to make your own soothing salve.
We'll follow a simple recipe, and you'll soon wonder how you ever left the house without something to rub on your pulse points.
Honestly, it's a game changer.
