Glendalough, in Ireland, is around 1.5 hours drive south of Dublin.
It's a place of pilgrimage & people travel from all over the world to visit.
Well, a friend of mine happened to be there when no-on else was & took this incredible photo.
I almost didn't want to show you this photo in case you preferrred it to the artwork I created... but I think each are special in their own way.
For a while I had wanted to experiment with layers of printed colours to create a graduation of colour. This felt like the perfect time to try.
First, I created this colour study.
Can you see the way the colours subtly change in tone?
I really enjoyed the process and was ready to begin creating the Glendalough prints...
... prints plural because I often create two or three artworks at the same time.
It helps take the pressure off, as you have higher odds of one of them being successful.
In the end, all three were just lovely, and in fact, there is only one left available to buy as the other two sold almost immediately.
This artwork has ben created with one colour, in differing intensities.
I had a lovely time creating them, and adore the watery marks where the sky meets the mountains.
So at the time of writing, there is one available to go to a good home.
